Shelley is an multi-faceted entertainer and artist. Her childhood studies began in modern, jazz, dance styles but she fell in love when she discovered World folk dance styles in the late 80’s. She specializes in Middle Eastern and American bellydance, and polynesian styles such as Hawaiian hula and Tahitian dance. In addition, she also does character appearances as Shelley Opearls NC Mermaid. She is the owner and operator of Colorful Waves, currently based in Durham NC. She loves expressing her creativity thru painting, drawing, sculpting, costume creation and more. Her greatest motivator is the process of creating beauty to share.
